The transmission of MRSA is associated with direct contact with an infected person. However, transmission also occurs by touching articles contaminated by an infected person. These articles include towels, clothing, bed sheets, bandages and most any other textiles or hard surfaces. Control strategies are best aimed at reducing the dose of potentially infective or adptive organisms wherever they exist or could be transferred in the healthcare envionment. Diligent actions must be enforced to reduce the spread of MRSA from infected people.
