FTBA GETS SHOT IN THE ARM FROM BIG SHOTS
The Furnishing Trades Benevolent Association is another £10,000 better off thanks to a cracking good day at Big Shots Holland and Holland grounds at Northwood Middlesex.
The FTBA’s annual clay pigeon shooting competition attracted some 30 teams to the Holland & Holland grounds at Northwood Middlesex last Thursday (June 11), proving an especially good day for hot shot regulars Luke and Tracey Riddington and their team, The Lost Samurai.Tracey took Top Female Gun, Luke Top Male and with their team mates Nick Cancea and Thosh Kellett, the foursome scooped both the Top Team prize and Top Flurry.
“The team always does well but this year they pretty well wiped the board,” said organiser David Langford. “It was a great day, a great opportunity for people right across the industry to mix and network and a successful fundraiser for the FTBA to boot. This was the 15th year that the competition has been held and brings the total raised for the charity over that time to well over £380,000.”
As well as monies raised through entry fees, the charity’s coffers were swelled by a £10K sponsorship from The Clare Foundation plus support from Willis & Gambier, Morris Furniture, Millbrook Beds, Furniture Village, Panaz, Gainsborough, ViSpring, Mark Webster Designs, Kyoto Futons and Dovetail Wood. The auctions, raffle, practice stands etc raised £3,399.00
Said David: “We even received donations from private individuals and the Riddingtons paid for a new trophy for our Top Female Gun award. The original was lost a few years ago.”
