On Friday the 17th of September Panaz hosted a rounder’s tournament between Panaz and DHJ Weisters on behalf of the FIT Charity. The event took place at the Seedhill Athletic Centre in Nelson. The Panaz Panther’s captain, Sarah Lloyd won the coin toss and the Panthers took to the field while the ever ready Weisters Wildcats came up to bat. Things looked pretty close between the highly competitive teams but after the first of the two innings, the Wildcats were winning by four rounder’s. During half time both teams enjoyed hot Haffner’s pie and peas before returning to play the second inning. The whistle blew and this time the Panaz Panthers were batting. Game faces on, they were ready to take the lead away from Weisters Wildcats. The Wildcats played a good game but in the end, it was the Panthers who walked away with the trophy. nnA raffle prize draw ended the day with prizes kindly donated by Curry’s Electrical, Academy Print, The Sparrow Hawk Pub and Eclipse Salon. ‘Man of the Match’ went to Duncan Weister for his excellent fielding skills. Panaz’s CEO, Tony Attard who is also the President of FIT gave a final presentation speech thanking the players, supporters, and volunteers for a fantastic afternoon and most importantly for helping raise £850 for the FIT Charity!nRecent News Archive
